Job Responsibilities
The Regional Medical Lead serves as a key field-based scientific resource for healthcare providers, industry partners, and internal teams, focusing primarily on AI-based coronary Plaque Analysis. The role collaborates with Clinical, Medical Education, Market Access, Technology, and Commercial groups and acts as the clinical expert on coronary artery disease diagnosis and Heartflow products, ensuring alignment of clinical messaging, data development, and physician education with business priorities.
Key duties include establishing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in lipid management and preventive cardiology, supporting educational faculty training, serving as a scientific resource for HCP education and advanced data reviews, providing formal medical education, gathering feedback to inform strategy, facilitating clinical research discussions, attending conferences, supporting product presentations, and aiding local HCPs with inquiries.
Skills Needed
- Intellectual curiosity and intelligence about cardiovascular and coronary artery disease management
- Ability to comprehend, synthesize, and communicate complex scientific content clearly and concisely
- Experience in managing priorities, multi-tasking, establishing and sustaining KOL relationships, educating HCPs, and addressing research challenges critically
- Trust and credibility with diverse customers including primary care providers, cardiologists, radiologists, administrators, and payers
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, public-speaking, and presentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment with commitment to medical and tech innovation
- Willingness to travel regularly (~50%) for meetings, conferences, and engagements
Education & Work Experience
- Advanced clinical or scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, MS, PA, ARNP/DNP)
- Minimum 5 years cardiovascular experience, ideally with lipid management
- Experience in pharma, biotech, or medical devices, preferably as a medical science liaison (MSL)
- Proven ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to external and internal audiences
- Advanced presentation and computer skills, expertise in literature identification and evaluation
Significant travel (~50%) by automobile and air.
This position offers an estimated base salary of $195,000 - $230,000, plus cash bonus and equity.
