About the Software Engineer, API at Headspace:

Headspace is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join its growing B2B Org. The org is responsible for building and maintaining eligibility systems and enrollment experiences for enterprise and SME customers, and building partnership integrations for strategic partnerships. This role is for the partnerships team, focusing on prototyping, architecting, and executing the enterprise platform, contributing to the B2B org's growth.
The role involves working on a product impacting over 65 million users, bringing new features to life to meet the mission, and pushing the platform to newer technologies.
Location: This is a hybrid role located in the San Francisco office, working 3 days per week on-site.

What you will do:

  • Impact millions of users with your work, contributing to mental health improvement worldwide.
  • Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems.
  • Write well designed, testable, performant, and efficient code.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle including collaborating with product stakeholders, writing tech specs and RFCs, feature release, and operations.
  • Build APIs primarily using Typescript/Node.js and Python/Django for AWS-based services.
  • Work with product and engineering teams to release services operating at high scale.

What you will bring:

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience building APIs and microservices.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and Next.
  • Proficiency in Typescript/Node.js and/or Python/Django.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, as well as CI/CD systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for collaboration and thriving in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to alerting, logging, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of database management and object-oriented programming.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay & Benefits:

Base salary range: $100,800 - $161,000 plus equity and benefits. Salary is dependent on location, experience, skills, and education. Benefits include stock awards, healthcare, wellness stipend, retirement savings match, lifetime Headspace membership, parental leave, and more.
