About the Remote Licensed Therapist (1099 Contractor) role at Headspace:
Headspace is currently seeking part-time, independently licensed contractor therapists to provide direct, virtual care as part of a multidisciplinary team. We are currently accepting applications from providers licensed in Oregon.
Contractor therapists are asked to offer a minimum of 5 sessions/week, with flexibility to offer additional sessions when needed. Scheduling consistency may take several weeks due to demand fluctuations.
Pay rates vary by state and start at $75-$80 per session for Oregon. Session length: 60 min intake, 45 min follow-up with concurrent note-taking included in rate. Rates depend on location, licensure, experience, specializations, and demand.
All therapists must be licensed and reside in the US. Work must be provided within the 50 US states; territories like Puerto Rico are excluded.

What you will do:
- Provide high quality tele-therapy to Headspace patients via HIPAA compliant video platform.
- Complete, sign, and lock clinical case notes in EMR within 48 hours; notes included in session rate.
- Maintain personalized database of licensure and personal information.
- Keep availability calendar updated.
- Communicate regularly with clinical leadership, respond to work emails within 24 hours.
- Work collaboratively with care team including health coaches, therapists, psychiatrists, and external providers.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 5 sessions per week availability, with flexibility for more; night and weekend flexibility a plus.
- Clinical competence in evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness) and measurement-based care.
- Commitment to culturally responsive care.
- Ability to deliver concurrent documentation compensated in session rate.
- Willingness to integrate cutting-edge technology into care.
- Comfort with care delivery technology including applications, video conferencing, EMR; tech-savviness is required.
- Safe, secure location with reliable internet for Zoom-based therapy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- 3+ years of psychotherapy experience with individuals, couples, or families.
- Experience with risk management and higher acuity cases.
- Licenses accepted: LCSW, LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, LCPC, LPCC, or LPC.
- Independent clinical license in good standing without supervision.
- BC-TMH credential if required by licensure state.
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
- Licensure in multiple states highly valued.
- Licensed psychologist willing to apply or enrolled in PSYPACT.
- Adolescent or Spanish specialty.
- Familiarity with Headspace app and content.
- Willingness to offer evening hours for member care flexibility.
