About the Remote Licensed Therapist (1099 Contractor) role at Headspace:
Headspace is currently seeking part-time, independently licensed contractor therapists to provide direct, virtual care as part of a multidisciplinary team. We are currently accepting applications from providers licensed in ALABAMA.
Contractor therapists are asked to offer a minimum of 5 sessions/week, with flexibility to offer additional sessions as needed. Scheduling consistency may take weeks due to demand and member scheduling fluctuations.
The pay rate starts at $72-$77 per session for ALABAMA, varying by state, licensure, experience, and other factors. Sessions are 60 minutes for intake and 45 minutes for follow up, including concurrent note-taking.
Therapists must be licensed and reside in the US, providing care only within the 50 states excluding U.S. territories.

What you will do:
- Provide high quality tele-therapy via HIPAA compliant video conferencing
- Complete clinical case notes in EMR within 48 hours; note completion included in session rate
- Maintain personalized database of licensure and related information
- Keep availability calendar updated
- Communicate regularly with clinical leadership responding within 24 hours
- Collaborate with care team including health coaches, therapists, psychiatrists, and external providers
What you will bring:
- Available to offer at least 5 sessions per week with flexibility
- Night and weekend availability is a plus
- Clinical competence in evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness)
- Commitment to culturally responsive care
- Ability to deliver concurrent documentation included in session rate
- Tech-savvy with comfort in using therapy delivery technology and tools
- Safe, secure location with reliable internet for Zoom-based psychotherapy
- Effective communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
- 3+ years clinical psychotherapy experience with individuals, couples, or families
- Experience with risk management and higher acuity cases
- Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Counselor
- Independent clinical license to practice without supervision
- BC-TMH credential if required by state
Preferred (If applicable):
- Licensure in multiple states valued
- Licensed psychologist willing to apply or enrolled in PSYPACT
- Adolescent or Spanish specialty
- Familiarity with Headspace app and content
- Willingness to offer evening hours for member flexibility
