Handspring is rebuilding the pediatric behavioral health system to make quality mental healthcare accessible to young people. We are a diverse, mission-driven, fully remote team hiring California-licensed mental health therapists.
Role summary
This is a full-time, salaried W2 position with a base salary of $80,000 - $85,000 and opportunity to earn total compensation between $83,000 and $98,000 per year (including incremental compensation up to $10,000 and sign-on bonus). You will work 40 hours per week with an expected average of 22-24 therapy sessions weekly and an assigned caseload of up to 28 clients. Benefits include medical/vision/dental, 401k option, generous PTO and paid sick time, continuing education coverage, malpractice and state licensure coverage, and a one-time $75 work-from-home budget.
What youll do
- Work 40 hours per week: approximately 28 hours for therapy sessions (average 22-24 sessions/week) and 12 hours for administrative tasks.
- Provide weekly psychotherapy using CBT and other evidence-based practices to children ages 8-17 and young adults 18+.
- Participate in weekly 1-on-1 case consultations, team consultations, peer huddles, and professional development programming.
- Complete clinical notes and documentation in a timely manner and communicate with pediatricians, school counselors, and family as needed.
Working hours and scheduling
- Total hours: 40 hours/week.
- Clinical care hours: 28 hours/week. At least 18 hours must fall during: Monday–Thursday 4:00pm–8:00pm PST; Friday 4:00pm–6:00pm PST; Saturday 11:00am–1:00pm PST. An additional 10 hours may be scheduled between 12:00pm–4:00pm PST Monday–Friday.
- Administrative hours: 12 hours/week for consultations, trainings, notes, and other administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted California license: LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
- At least 3 years post-graduate experience providing psychotherapy.
- Clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families and familiarity with evidence-based treatments.
- Must reside in the Pacific Time Zone (PT).
- Comfort using technology such as Zoom, Office, and EHR systems. Must not have opted out of Medicare.
