Job Summary
The Enterprise Data Architect (MarTech & Customer Data) will design and govern an enterprise-wide customer data ecosystem spanning multiple platforms and business units. This role owns the technical architecture, integration design, and data governance for systems that create, manage, or consume customer information. Responsibilities include designing system interoperability, establishing data standards, resolving cross-platform data conflicts, and enabling seamless data flow across the organisation's technology landscape.
Core Responsibilities
- Enterprise Data Architecture: Design and maintain logical and physical data architectures across CRM platforms and integrated customer data systems. Create comprehensive data flow diagrams, integration maps, and system dependency documentation to guide implementation and operations.
- Multi-Cloud Orchestration: Design Salesforce multi-cloud solutions that integrate our customer architecture within the Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud) and with external systems, including subscription and events technologies.
- Integration Design & Governance: Architect APIs, webhooks, data synchronization patterns, and data transformation processes across multiple platforms. Define integration standards, error handling protocols, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliability and data integrity.
- Data Conflict Resolution: Develop and implement governance logic to resolve data conflicts and prioritize information across business units. Design field-level ownership rules and data quality scoring mechanisms to maintain accurate customer records.
- Data Modeling & Optimization: Design custom data models, relationships, and object structures to support complex business requirements. Optimize data storage and query performance while maintaining scalability and flexibility.
- Master Data Management: Establish deduplication strategies, record merging rules, and golden record logic across organizational units. Define criteria for identifying and consolidating duplicate records while preserving data integrity.
- Migration & Transformation: Lead data architecture for platform migrations and consolidations, ensuring comprehensive data mapping, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation throughout the transition process.
- Data Quality & Validation: Define data quality standards and validation rules for all data sources entering the system. Establish cleansing protocols and audit processes to maintain ongoing data integrity.
- Scalability & Performance: Design architectures capable of scaling with organizational growth across geographies, business units, and data volumes while maintaining system performance and reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, data governance, business intelligence, and business unit leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Facilitate effective communication across technical and business stakeholders.
- Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend technologies and platforms that enhance the organization's data architecture and support strategic business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of enterprise data architecture experience with focus on customer data platforms and CRM systems
- Expertise in Salesforce and other enterprise platforms (CRM, CDP, ERP), including cloud-based architectures and delivery practices such as Agile and DevOps
- Expert-level knowledge of CRM data models, object relationships, and data synchronization patterns
- Proven experience designing integrations across 5+ enterprise platforms
- Strong SQL proficiency and data modeling expertise
- Demonstrated success resolving data conflicts and implementing master data management strategies
- Deep understanding of data quality frameworks and data cleansing methodologies
- Experience leading large-scale data migration, platform consolidations, or enterprise wide system transformations across multi-tenant architectures
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in media, publishing, events, or subscription-based business models
- Familiarity with customer data platforms or subscription management systems
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and data warehousing
- Understanding of privacy-by-design principles and compliance standards
- Salesforce data architecture certifications
- Experience with business intelligence and analytics platforms
Total Salary
Up to $170,000, including a bonus. Fortune provided base pay range: $150,000/yr - $170,000/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Location
This role will be based in NYC (New York City Metropolitan Area).
