Posted on September 24, 2025 (about 3 hours ago)

Job Description

As Finance Lead, you take overall responsibility for our finance area and manage the commercial processes in close cooperation with the management. The onboarding is conducted by a very experienced Fractional CFO (17+ years experience) who will prepare you structurally for your start so that you can quickly take on responsibility.
Besides operational control, you will develop our financial processes further and ensure that we are strategically and financially optimally positioned as a company.
This role includes overall responsibility for strategic topics as well as readiness to conscientiously take on operational routines such as invoice processing, preliminary accounting or payment processing. The understanding of these processes builds a strong foundation to recognize more complex relationships and actively contribute to the further development of the financial strategy. You also help to make manual tasks more efficient through automation.
You are operationally hands-on as well as strategically forward-looking, knowing how to manage routines efficiently without losing sight of the big picture and how to create impact with pragmatic solutions in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the finance area (accounting, controlling, reporting, business planning)
  • Leadership and further development of preliminary accounting and coordination with external tax consultants (DATEV)
  • Responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB), including audit support
  • Creation and further development of reporting, forecasts, and budget planning
  • Implementation and maintenance of KPI dashboards and BI tools
  • Liquidity planning and cash flow management
  • Management of receivables and payables, including approval and payment processes (e.g., Moss, Circular)
  • Close cooperation with management, shareholders, board members, tax advisors, auditors, banks, internal departments and authorities
  • Optimization and automation of financial processes
  • Support in strategic projects and investment decisions
  • Personnel administration via our HR tool (Personio) and support in HR relevant matters
  • Handling of ad-hoc requests from management and the board

Qualifications

You bring:
  • Completed studies (business administration, finance, accounting, or similar)
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in finance, ideally in start-up or scale-up environments
  • Solid knowledge in HGB accounting, controlling, financial planning and liquidity management
  • Experience in collaboration with tax consultants, auditors, and banks
  • Confident handling of Excel/Google Sheets and interest in independently building and further developing analyses and reports
  • Knowledge of common accounting systems; experience with DATEV is an advantage
  • Understanding and willingness to take on both operational routines (e.g., invoice processing, preliminary accounting, payment runs) and strategic tasks
  • Experience or interest in HR administration (e.g., Personio) as well as openness to ad-hoc topics from management and the board
  • Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and pronounced pragmatism
  • Hands-on mentality, pragmatism in daily business, and joy in optimizing and automating processes
  • Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form
