Your mission
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead - Foundations Squad to join our team.
Floy supports radiologists by enhancing their diagnostics efforts with unconventional AI products focused on overlooked diseases. You will lead a fast-paced engineering team tasked with optimizing key infrastructure and tech stack to solve unexplored radiological diagnostics problems. You should be experienced with data and service infrastructure, possess a versatile tech stack, think out-of-the-box, and have the ability to independently and passionately plan and execute R&D tasks with your team.
The goal is to enable interdisciplinary teams and shape scalable processes for Floy's growth. You will own the system engineering, data engineering, engineering productivity, test engineering, and security domains.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and guide a team of diversely specialized engineers
- Create Floys' core infrastructure to support and enable other teams in various domains of Data, Apps, CI/CD, common ML/DevOps
- Take ownership of in-house projects, manage stakeholder requirements, and design efficient processes
- Focus on scalability and efficiency to support rapid growth
- Optimize system stability, security, and fast processing times within medical regulatory frameworks
What are we looking for?
- A degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience in a related field
- Strong attitude to support and collaborate with other engineering teams
- Strong commitment to teamwork and communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Python and core concepts
- Knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms
- Familiarity with AWS ecosystem: ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.
- Comfortable with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools
- Strong grasp of infrastructure security, including encryption, access control, and compliance
- Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD best practices
- Keen eye for detail and commitment to requirement/user-driven engineering
- Structured documentation approach and high standards for reproducibility and transparency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
- Versatile tech stack including Python, Docker, Bash, AWS, API development
Good-to-Have:- Experience in start-up environments and rapid scaling challenges
- Experience in medical imaging (DICOM) or radiology/healthtech domain
- Experience in MLOps
- Experience deploying and managing in-house or external apps
- Expertise in Terraform for cloud infrastructure provisioning and management
- Proficiency managing relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) in cloud setups
- Basic understanding of data engineering tools like DBT or Airflow
