The Design team ensures the best user experience on the app through data-informed research, innovation, expert content, and design. The team is currently growing and building a world-class function in a hyper-growth startup environment. The role offers the chance to design the future of everyday health, combining gamification, health data, and behavioral science to help users build strong habits and self-awareness.
Your Experience
Must have:
- 10+ years of experience designing consumer mobile apps with a track record of driving high-impact initiatives
- Strong portfolio showcasing systems thinking, visual craft, and user-centered problem-solving
- Expertise in interaction design, micro-interactions, and motion for seamless experiences
- Excellent communication skills to distill complex ideas and drive alignment
- Strategic and hands-on approach in shaping vision and executing design excellence
- Ability to connect user needs with business goals and technical constraints
- Bias toward action, prototyping, and iterating towards clarity
- Experience with scalable design frameworks and design systems
- Proficiency in Figma and advanced prototyping tools (Protopie or Principle)
- Strong self-awareness and commitment to continuous growth
- Collaborative mindset with communication and mentoring skills
- Commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and ethical design
Nice to have:
- Experience designing gamified or behavior-change-driven experiences
- Experience in health tech
- Familiarity with AI, Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Basic understanding of Lottie or Rive
Responsibilities
- Shape vision and drive design strategy and execution for cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch
- Design playful, meaningful features to help users reflect on well-being and build healthy habits
- Lead complex design initiatives from initial stage to launch and raise design standards
- Translate ambiguous challenges into clear, motivating experiences
- Develop scalable interaction models and visual systems
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and mentor other designers
- Contribute to Flo's overall design vision, accessibility standards, and motion principles
- Champion inclusive, ethical, and emotionally intelligent design
