The job

The Design team aims to provide the best user experience for the Flo app. They rely on data-driven research, innovative content and design expertise to execute and validate platform features. With new design leadership, the team is evolving to build a world-class function in a hyper-growth startup environment.
The role involves designing the future of everyday health by combining gamification, health data, and behavioral science to help users build better habits and self-awareness.

Your Experience

Must have:
  • 6+ years experience designing consumer mobile apps
  • Strong visual craft, clear UX thinking, and attention to detail demonstrated through portfolio
  • High bar for interaction design, creating emotional experiences via micro-interactions and motion
  • Skilled in creating high-fidelity prototypes for testing and communication
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to clearly explain design decisions
  • Proficient in Figma and familiar with Protopie or Principle
  • Designs with accessibility and inclusion in mind
Nice to have:
  • Experience in gamification or behavior-change-driven design
  • Experience in health tech
  • Basic knowledge of Lottie or Rive for working with animation engineering
  • Experience with AI and LLM technologies to develop innovative ideas

Responsibilities

  • Design engaging features to help users reflect on daily well-being and build healthy habits in the Flo App
  • Own the design process from concept through implementation, focusing on every detail including animation and copy
  • Translate complex health data into simple, emotionally resonant visuals
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, content designers, researchers, and animators
  • Contribute to the evolution of Flo’s design language and new interaction/gamification patterns
  • Champion inclusive and accessible design across all experiences
