The job
The Senior Product Designer at Flo plays a pivotal role in shaping complex, system-level design solutions that enhance user experiences across Flo’s app. This role demands deep expertise in interaction design, systemic thinking, visual craft, and the ability to architect scalable frameworks influencing the product direction.
As a senior individual contributor, the Senior Product Designer tackles the most challenging design problems, sets quality standards, ensures accessibility, inclusivity, and emotional resonance in designs. They work closely across product, engineering, research, and content teams to elevate design craft and contribute significantly to Flo’s overarching design vision.
Your Experience
Must have:
- 10+ years of professional experience designing mobile applications.
- Portfolio demonstrating systemic design, advanced interaction design, motion and micro-interaction expertise, and measurable product impact.
- Experience creating scalable frameworks, contributing to design systems and interaction models.
- Proficiency in Figma and advanced prototyping tools such as Protopie.
- Experience with motion and animation tools like Lottie, Rive, After Effects.
- Experience in AI/LLM-powered design exploration.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to distill complex ideas into clear narratives and influence stakeholders.
- Collaborative experience mentoring and raising the craft bar for design teams.
Nice to have:
- Experience designing gamified or behavior-change-driven experiences.
- Experience working in health tech or regulated industries.
What you'll be doing
- Lead complex design projects from inception to creation, building scalable frameworks and systems for growth and innovation.
- Translate ambiguous product and data challenges into user-centered experiences aligned with business goals.
- Design features, end-to-end flows, and experiments that support user needs and engagement.
- Create prototypes and high-fidelity mock-ups using Figma or other prototyping tools.
- Develop and evolve interaction models, motion principles, and visual systems that scale across teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content designers to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Mentor and support other designers through feedback, craft guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Advocate for emotionally intelligent, ethical design and ensure accessibility standards are met.
- Contribute significantly to the design system focusing on accessibility, inclusivity, and scalability.
- Integrate AI tools into daily work processes.
