The Job

The Delivery stream provides, maintains, and continuously improves the platform for the entire company, empowering developers, content creators, and all product value creators with effective tools. It leverages data from 75M+ monthly active users generating petabytes of data for insights and business decisions. Currently, the team seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager for the Data Platform team.
Key responsibilities include defining strategy, driving requirements, and delivering analytics and GenAI powering products. The platform stack includes Databricks, Looker, Airflow, and internal tools built with Java, Scala, Rust, Python, and Terraform.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and support data democratization prioritizing privacy and security
  • Build a cutting-edge, petabytes-scale Data Platform using an aaC approach
  • Enable data workflows and pipelines processing approximately 5 million events per minute
  • Achieve product-market fit and increase product adoption beyond the current 40% weekly active users
  • Engage deeply with the team’s work including technical details
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure efficient, productive workflows and streamline Data Science and Data Analytics
  • Lead the internal product roadmap, establish a shared vision, define priorities, and measure key product metrics
  • Lead the Data Platform team with technical guidance, prompt feedback, mentoring, and coaching

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze data, team inputs, and market insights translating them into product requirements
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative insights for data-driven product decisions
  • Understanding of technical and data architecture, cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, data warehousing, data governance, and data quality
  • 6+ years' experience working with internal and end-users in roles such as Product Manager or Engineering Manager
  • Strong background in Data Engineering, Data Science, or Data Analytics
  • Understanding of the Platform as a Product concept
  • Experience managing teams including one-on-ones, conflict resolution, career development, mentoring, and growth of engineers
