The Job
The Engineering Manager role in London involves leading a squad to build privacy-first, AI-powered health tools for a global audience. The role requires engineering high scale and reliable systems, setting direction, shipping fast, and taking ownership of outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of engineers
- Set direction, ship fast, and own outcomes
- Build reliable, scalable, and secure systems
- Guide architecture decisions and unblock delivery
- Champion engineering quality, speed, and autonomy
- Coach the team including hiring, developing, and promoting
- Collaborate cross-functionally to turn product ideas into reality
Qualifications
- 6+ years coding experience in Scala, Java, Kotlin or Objective-C/Swift
- Experience building distributed systems at scale
- 4+ years managing engineers and leading teams
- Strong track record of hiring, mentoring, and building inclusive cultures
- Deep understanding of software engineering best practices and agile delivery
- Strong product mindset focusing on user needs
Nice to Have
- Experience with ML or data-powered products
- Full-stack experience
- Hands-on with CI/CD and DevOps tooling
- Background in consumer tech or mobile apps
- Knowledge of A/B testing
