Job description

Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)

You love tackling new challenges and want to work with us on the visionary mission to make digital communication in healthcare secure and reliable? Then we are looking for you as an Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our team!

Since its founding in 2019, Famedly has been committed to digitizing medical communication processes in compliance with data protection regulations and thus revolutionizing the healthcare system. Famedly launched the first TI messenger certified by gematik to improve communication and collaboration within the healthcare sector. This enables medical teams to exchange sensitive patient information, images, and other files in real time from any location - from medication plans, lab values to X-ray images. As a dynamic, remote-first startup based in Berlin with a growing and experienced team, we work together every day on our vision of a healthcare system without information barriers. Famedly relies on open-source software, primarily using and actively developing Matrix and FHIR.

As an Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d), you will be part of a talented team of developers of all levels and bear central responsibility for ensuring the technical integrity, security, and performance of our product.

Your tasks:
  • Configuration, operation, and maintenance of Linux servers
  • Integration and administration of systems in customer environments (remote installations, network configuration, firewalls)
  • Development and implementation of automation and configuration concepts using Ansible and Python
  • Participation in building and maintaining infrastructure components (container environments, networks, firewalls)
  • Monitoring and securing the system landscape as well as performing updates, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Creating individual customer solutions in the context of system integration
  • Participation in on-call duty to ensure stable system operation
  • Analysis and troubleshooting of system operation issues (2nd-level support)

Requirements:
  • Several years of experience in Linux system administration and infrastructure engineering
  • Solid knowledge of Ansible and scripting with Python
  • Good knowledge in networking, firewalls, access management, and container technologies such as Docker or Podman
  • Experience with monitoring and observability of distributed systems (e.g., with Grafana, Loki, Prometheus)
  • Initial exposure to CI/CD workflows or willingness to learn in this area
  • Very good German and English skills, written and spoken
  • Ideally completed training or studies in IT or a comparable qualification with professional experience

Why you should work at Famedly:
  • Work in a growing startup in an exciting growth phase - Since 2019, we have grown very fast and have big plans! Famedly launched the first TI messenger certified by gematik, and we are developing it further with your help!
  • Your perfect work-life balance - With remote work and flexible hours, you decide when and where you are most productive. You also have the option to work at our Berlin office. You choose: equip your home office or use a co-working space!
  • Attractive conditions - A permanent contract with fair compensation (range between 45k - 58k€ depending on experience), training budget, work equipment of your choice, and 28 vacation days per year
  • We love open source - You'll often have the chance to dive into various open source projects during work. Overview at: github.com/famedly
  • Responsibility and creative freedom - At Famedly, you make a difference. Shape company structures and internal processes from the start and contribute individually. Every process is worth questioning and optimizing to advance our mission!
