Job Description
Medical Information is a customer-facing function supporting the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device, and digital therapeutic products by providing scientifically balanced, evidence-based, non-promotional information in response to unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers. This position involves medical content development-related client engagements and requires medical information and medical content experience along with excellent communication skills. The position is home office based, full-time, and candidates must hold a valid work permit in the EU or the UK.
Responsibilities include supporting the Manager, Medical Content Development on content development engagements, writing medical and scientific content for Medical Affairs, Medical Information and Medical Communications, managing client document development processes, working with document management platforms, scientific fact-checking, collaborating on strategy and communication for projects, participating in client meetings, supporting thought leadership articles and materials, updating SOPs and guidance documents, mentoring team members, staying current on industry best practices, and collaborating with other medical writers and creative teams.
Expectations are to deliver client delight, oversee and mentor reports and consultants, work collaboratively with teams, comply with industry standards, independently develop high-quality medical content, manage quality issues proactively, and be flexible with work scheduling. Travel up to 10-15% is required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate or Master of Science in Life Sciences or healthcare, at least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or Medical Information/Communications service provider, experience developing medical information materials, and strong communication and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and literature search tools is required, along with understanding regulatory requirements related to Medical Information and Medical Affairs.
Preferred qualifications include a Pharm.D., Pharm.M, Degree in Medicine or a PhD, experience in medical content development across multiple therapeutic areas, effective communication skills, high fluency in English and another European language, strong analytical and project management skills, and being results-driven, innovative, and highly principled.
