This role will lead development of a scalable prescriber workforce, establish clinical governance frameworks aligned with Japanese regulations, and act as the primary clinical representative for Japan.
The role requires hands-on execution and strategic leadership, and involves close collaboration with global and local teams including product, pharmacy partners, and patient support to ensure high-quality, culturally appropriate care delivery.
Key Responsibilities

  • Workforce Scaling & Prescriber Management: Build and scale a reliable, high-quality prescriber network in Japan; partner with hiring teams on screening, assessment, and onboarding; establish systems for rostering, utilisation, and performance management; support clinicians with guidance for consistent and safe prescribing.
  • Clinical Quality, Insights & Risk Management: Monitor clinical performance through audits, data analysis, and prescriber insights; lead clinical incident and complaint management including triage, escalation, and resolution; implement continuous quality improvement initiatives and develop scalable clinical guardrails and safety protocols.
  • Clinical Advisory & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the clinical subject matter expert for Japan; review and localise clinical content, patient communications, and educational materials; collaborate with pharmacy partners, operations, and patient support teams; ensure effective clinical risk management and escalation pathways.
  • Clinical Governance & Compliance (Japan): Establish and maintain clinical governance frameworks aligned with Japanese healthcare regulations; develop clear clinical protocols (prescribing criteria, eligibility thresholds, escalation processes); support regulatory readiness, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Practitioner Collaboration & Leadership: Act as the primary escalation point for Japanese prescribers and clinicians; foster collaboration between remote practitioners and internal teams; provide clinical leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to practitioners.
  • External Engagement & Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with regulatory bodies, clinical associations, and healthcare stakeholders in Japan; represent the company in industry events and external forums; support efforts to build trust and credibility in the Japanese healthcare ecosystem.

What Success Looks Like

  • A scalable and high-performing prescriber network in Japan.
  • Strong adherence to clinical quality and safety standards.
  • Clear and effective clinical governance frameworks tailored to Japan.
  • Seamless collaboration between clinical, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Established trust with local regulators, partners, and stakeholders.
