Facilities Team Overview

The facilities team at Epic works hard to maintain a 9-million-square-foot campus featuring 37 interconnected office buildings with distinctive architecture and creative themes, along with a cutting-edge training facility and a five-story underground auditorium.

Green Initiatives

Our campus leverages alternative energy sources including 12 MW of wind and solar energy and 27,000 tons of cooling from one of North America's largest geothermal systems.

Skilled Trades

Team members work alongside experts in various skilled trades such as plumbers, painters, electricians, HVAC technicians, responsible for issue resolution, preventive maintenance, and related projects around campus.

Engineers

Engineers coordinate, manage, and plan facility and capital building improvement projects related to the electrical and mechanical needs of the campus.

Operations

Operations team includes shuttle drivers ensuring safe efficient transport around campus, and horticulture team maintaining over 1000 acres of gardens and green spaces.

FAQs

When was the campus built? The campus was purchased and developed starting in the early 2000s with buildings added regularly; staff moved into first buildings in late 2005.
Is Epic off the grid? Not technically, but it has sustainable energy initiatives such as solar, wind, and geothermal, aiming to be environmentally friendly while connected to the grid.
What shifts does the facilities team cover? Generally two shifts: first shift 6 am-2:30 pm, second shift 2 pm-10:30 pm.
Will I be on call? On-call need is reduced due to presence of second-shift crews; backup rotations exist for monitoring and responding to alarms.
