Epic's Culinary Team works with fresh, top-quality ingredients to create unforgettable culinary experiences for staff and tens of thousands of visitors from healthcare organizations around the world. The team prepares an eclectic menu for every palate in state-of-the-art production kitchens, bakeries, and cafes, producing fine-dining dishes, comfort foods from local and global cuisines, and imaginative desserts and pastries that rival top-ranked restaurants and bakery boutiques.

We prepare thousands of meals daily starting from scratch with seasonal, high-quality ingredients. The menu changes daily, offering a variety of cuisines including American, Italian, Indian, and Thai so employees and visitors discover new lunch options every day.

We operate several state-of-the-art cooking spaces on campus: Cassiopeia, King’s Cross, and Restaurant 42 for staff; Voyager Hall and Deep Space for customers and events; plus smaller niche dining areas. Venues include specialty concepts such as Sofrito (Latin-based cuisine), Chopsticks (Pan-Asian and daily sushi), and Spit & Fire (rotating gastro-pub favorites).

Our menus change daily, giving chefs the freedom to reinvent traditional dishes or create original concepts. We emphasize sustainability by sourcing locally when possible, following EPA guidelines to reduce food waste, and using upcycling, donation, and composting practices when appropriate. Team members enjoy a high level of autonomy and take ownership of their dishes from start to finish, adding personal flair to each plate.

Staff learn on the job through hands-on work with internal and external experts in regional cuisine, baking, sustainability, food safety, nutrition, and coffee. Professional development includes classes, books, immersion trips, and tuition reimbursement. The Culinary Team also handles events and catering for groups ranging from intimate meetings to conferences with 10,000+ attendees.

Epic hosts large annual events like Epicnic, serving thousands of guests with diverse menus curated by the Culinary Team. The team also appears in local and national press and partners with the community during special initiatives.
