The Opportunity
Endpoints News is seeking a senior journalist who can help build our coverage of China’s booming biopharma industry. This role will cover Chinese biotechs including R&D work, public and private financial markets, and key industry power players. You will work closely with the US team to help readers understand how the US and China compete and cooperate, and help uncover startups, interesting science, and new entrepreneurs.
This is the first of several roles in the region as part of growing coverage of China’s role in global biotech. The right candidate will have a clearly articulated point of view on the biotech industry, experience reporting in China, strong writing or editing skills, and the ability to work with colleagues in the US and UK. There is the potential to lead and help hire additional resources in the region.
Key attributes:
- 7+ years experience in business journalism; including experience covering business and biopharma
- Excellent written and spoken English, plus Mandarin language skills
- Located in or willing to relocate to Hong Kong, able to travel to mainland China
- Collaborative, entrepreneurial attitude
