Role Overview
Exciting opportunity to join as Senior Legal Counsel (maternity cover), reporting to General Counsel. Primary legal support for commercial teams to expand global sales footprint and advise on product development and launches with quality and compliance teams.
Broad role providing strategic legal advice on commercial, data, privacy, and product matters across multiple countries (US, Europe, and beyond). Highly visible role with exposure to all levels, including C-suite & Board.

Location: UK, fully remote potential, with office access in Bristol and London shared spaces.
Employment: 12-month fixed-term contract, right to work in UK required, flexible working patterns (3-4 days or full-time) with salary pro-rated accordingly.
Salary: £60,000 to £100,000 dependent on experience and working pattern.
Ideal Start Date: Mid-October 2025.
Responsibilities
- Primary legal support for EMEA and international expansion, liaising with General Counsel.
- Support commercial teams in strengthening market position, expanding revenues via D2C and retail marketplaces like Amazon.
- Assist in delivering new products to markets and expanding into new markets.
- Legal input on new product launches including regulatory compliance, advertising claims, packaging, legal terms, and warranties.
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs and quality teams on product regulatory issues including horizon scanning, filings, risk assessments, and contentious matters.
- Legal support for product engineers and IP communication during development and user trials.
- Support operations on commercial supplier contracts.
- Ensure privacy and security compliance with data protection, provide training and documentation.
- Advise on strategic projects and new initiatives.
- Manage external counsel and legal budgets.
- Conduct legal education and training across teams.
Requirements
- At least 8 years PQE qualified lawyer in England & Wales.
- Preferably some knowledge of medical devices and consumer product regulation.
- Experience in US or other countries is a bonus.
- Training in top-tier private practice and ideally in-house experience, preferably in start-up, tech, e-commerce, or consumer electronics environments.
- Ability to work autonomously, deliver commercial and pragmatic solutions, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
- Self-motivated, independent, results-focused, willing to take ownership and handle varied tasks.
- Adaptable and enthusiastic about change and the company's future.
