Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

Daymark Health is seeking a mission-driven full-stack engineer to join as a Staff Software Engineer. You will set the technical strategy, ensure a secure and scalable infrastructure, and lead the development of the initial product.
You will collaborate with VP of Product, Principal Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Scientists, operational leadership, and external customers to shape a transformative cancer care experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy the foundation of the cancer care platform emphasizing user experience, performance, and security.
  • Engage with internal care team, patients, providers, and health plans to gather feedback and understand needs to inform product development.
  • Collaborate with operations, product, data engineering, and analytics teams to build core systems and tools.
  • Ensure systems comply with HIPAA and SOC II security standards.
  • Help recruit and build the engineering team, eventually moving into a player/coach role.

What Success Looks Like

  • Support the evolution of Daymark Health's initial product for thousands of patients, including implementation of EHR and CRM and build the patient-facing app (first 6 months).
  • Shape the technical direction of the platform, including integrations with hospital systems and a potential mobile patient app (next 12 months).

Who You Are

  • 6+ years of experience designing and building user-centric products.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology including EHRs and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) is a plus.
  • Experience building secure, HIPAA-compliant systems with SOC II standards.
  • Team leadership with hands-on coding experience; comfortable guiding contract engineering teams.
  • Action-oriented, able to prioritize and execute in fast-paced environments.
  • Effective communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused and skilled at leveraging feedback to improve products.
  • Adaptable to ambiguity and rapid changes in a startup environment.
  • Located in Boston, NYC or Philly.

Compensation

$175,000 - $200,000 USD
