THE ROLE
As Daymark Healths first Director of People Operations, you be the architect of our people strategy during a period of rapid growth and market expansion. Reporting directly to the COO, you design the infrastructure that enables our clinical, operational, and technical teams to scale effectively as we grow into new markets.
This is a strategic, high-impact role focused less on traditional HR administration and more on building people-first systems that foster engagement, performance, and cohesion across a distributed, mission-driven team. You inherit a strong foundationthanks to existing HR supportand take the lead on creating scalable systems for onboarding, hiring, manager development, performance management, and internal communication.
You also help shape Daymarks approach to recruiting and building high-performing teams at both the corporate and market levels, ensuring alignment between our patient-first mission and our organizational culture. If youre a builder at heart, energized by mission-driven work, and motivated by the opportunity to define what great looks like in a scaling healthcare company, this role is for you. You also need to be comfortable running recruiting processes yourself, before a team assembled under you.
WHAT YOU DO
After 6 months you have:
- Built trust and credibility with leadership, managers, and clinical teams.
- Established core people operations processesincluding onboarding, performance management, and manager developmenttailored to Daymarks operating model.
- Reviewed and redesigned foundational policies and procedures to support clinical and non-clinical staff as they care for patients on their cancer journey.
- Created a scalable playbook for integrating talent in new markets, ensuring smooth transitions, cultural alignment, and consistency.
- Led at least one successful company-wide all-hands and launched a new, regular program to strengthen communication and alignment.
After 12 months you have:
- Successfully launched a robust onboarding, training, and development program for both clinical and corporate staff, resulting in measurable improvements in retention, performance, and engagement.
- Partnered with leadership to recruit for key roles, building a strong, repeatable recruitment process and candidate experience.
- Become a go-to resource for managers and staff on people-related issues, balancing coaching with systems-level solutions.
- Implemented scalable tools and processes to support organizational growth across multiple markets.
After 18 months you have:
- Elevated the people function from building and optimizing to innovatingintroducing programs that drive engagement, performance, and cross-team cohesion.
- Achieved high engagement and satisfaction scores across clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Served as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all people-related matters, influencing organizational strategy and direction.
- Nurtured a unified culture across corporate, clinical, and market teams, rooted in shared values and Daymarks mission to transform the cancer care experience.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Expertise. 8+ years of progressive experience in people operations and recruiting in high-growth and value-based care startups.

- Biased to Action. Able to independently drive initiatives from conception to execution with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Entrepreneurial. Thrives in early-stage, high-growth environments where not all processes are defined. Comfortable building, iterating, and scaling new systems.
- Player/Coach. Experienced in building and leading teams, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on execution.
- Exceptional Communicator. Skilled in communication, coaching, and conflict resolution, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and maturity.
- Collaborative Partner. Works seamlessly across clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure people operations enable business and care delivery goals.
Compensation will vary based on the candidate's experience and ability:
$150,000-$185,000
