Data4Life is a nonprofit organization focused on making everyday health data usable for research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. We partner with research institutions, public health organizations and industry to create interoperable, high-quality datasets that enable evidence-based and personalized medicine.

Founded by the Hasso‑Plattner‑Foundation, our activities exclusively pursue philanthropic goals. We develop and operate secure, privacy-preserving platforms and services that digitize health research while maintaining ethical and legal compliance.

Our digital solutions include D4L Collect (a sensor and wearable data collection platform), Data2Evidence (an OMOP-based data management and analysis platform, available as open source) and D4L Datapool for data discovery and access. These products help standardize, harmonize and safely share health data for research.

We collaborate with academic and public partners across science and healthcare, co-lead OHDSI Germany, and prioritize data security, interoperability, and responsible governance to accelerate public health impact.
