Your role in helping us shape the future:
The Director of Accounting and Finance role based in Iselin, New Jersey is responsible for direct management of key financial accounting and reporting functions including planning and forecasting. The role reviews financial transactions, sales contracts, business processes and internal controls; establishes relationships with vertical managers; and develops financial models to support planning and analysis. Understanding of web business and digital revenue streams (digital transactional accounting, CPA, CPL, ARPO) is important.
Only NJ or local NY candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day processing of financial transactions to ensure accurate maintenance of the company’s finances and related systems, working for the Controller.
- Provide direct management to staff and ensure month-end close and account reconciliations are performed accurately and timely.
- Improve accounting process flows using digital sector experience and tools; focus on system efficiencies and business practices.
- Interface with all verticals to communicate and execute budgeting and forecasting deliverables and provide decision support.
- Oversee all audits of the company’s financials.
- Recommend, develop, and implement new processes to improve department effectiveness and efficiency.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required.
Requirements & Company Culture
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional accounting experience with 5+ years in an accounting management role; experience in digital media a plus.
- Solid understanding of technical accounting pronouncements and standards (GAAP, FASB).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including advanced Excel and PeopleSoft (or similar) accounting software.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
