Support Techniker- Image Guided Surgery (IGS)

Job Description

For strengthening the team in Switzerland, we are looking for a support technician in the area of surgical products and Digital OR. As a service technician, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of our medical systems. In addition, you will be the first point of contact for our customers regarding technical questions.
You will work independently from your home office, ideally located in Lucerne, Zurich, or Aarau.
Your main tasks include:
  • Installation and commissioning of surgical and OR integration platforms as well as planning systems in hospitals
  • Design, setup, and commissioning of the integration of our products into the IT landscape
  • Implementation and integration of Brainlab products into hospital archives (e.g., PACS), partially via remote access
  • Execution of software/hardware updates and upgrades
  • Independent execution of maintenance and inspections of systems at customers
  • Independent troubleshooting and resolution to minimize downtime
  • Contact person for our customers in technical matters
  • Support of medical staff to ensure maximum efficiency and use of Brainlab products
  • Fast and efficient execution of installations and service orders
  • Independent planning, organization, and execution of service missions according to the support manager's specifications
  • Documentation of services provided according to Brainlab guidelines
  • Contribution of ideas and innovations to improve current products, providing sustainable input for further development
  • Close collaboration within the team with colleagues from sales and support
  • Ensuring good and efficient communication between customers, colleagues, and superiors

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in electrical engineering, medical technology, information technology, or similar
  • Great interest and enjoyment in working with IT hardware and software (installation, configuration, repair, maintenance)
  • Solid knowledge in information and network technology as well as Windows operating systems
  • Confident handling of server hardware or virtual machines and hospital archives (e.g., PACS, KIS)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of IT network technology in hospitals (e.g., DICOM, HL7)
  • Experience with audio and video technology and display technologies / streaming technologies
  • Knowledge of VDE regulations and relevant technical standards is an advantage
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German as well as good English skills
  • High willingness to travel (80%) and a valid driving license
  • Independent working style, team spirit, flexibility, confidence, and persuasiveness in dealing with customers as well as enjoyment in customer support
  • Strong skills in analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
