The Opportunity

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Autonomize, you will lead development and deployment of machine learning solutions with an emphasis on large language models (LLMs), vision models, and classic NLP models. You will play a significant role in advancing our AI-driven healthcare-optimized copilots and agents.

What You’ll Do

  • Fine-tune or prompt engineer large language models (LLMs) for healthcare applications across customer engagements.
  • Develop and refine approaches for vision-based data using state-of-the-art VLM models to process and analyze medical documents and healthcare forms.
  • Create and enhance classic NLP models to support clinical documentation and patient interaction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, ML engineers, healthcare clients, and product managers.
  • Deploy and integrate models into healthcare systems, ensuring performance and scalability.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and data scientists, fostering continuous learning and innovation.
  • Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and tuning of models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Implement distributed training on GPUs and TPUs and optimize training techniques.
  • Stay informed on the latest research, tools, and technologies in language and vision processing for healthcare.
  • Document methodologies, model architectures, and project outcomes for technical and non-technical audiences.

You’re a Fit If You Have

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 528 years of machine learning engineering experience, with a strong record of developing production-grade models and pipelines in regulated industries such as healthcare.
  • Hands-on expertise with large language models (e.g., GPT, BERT), computer vision models, and classic NLP technologies.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
  • Strong understanding of deep learning techniques, model fine-tuning, hyperparameter optimization, and model optimization.
  • Proven experience deploying and managing ML models in production.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Working knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps tools like MLflow and Kubeflow.
  • Working knowledge of software engineering principles and best practices.
