National Account Director — Existing Business Expansion

Role Overview

We’re hiring a quota-carrying National Account Director to expand Autonomize AI's presence across some of the largest health plans and PBMs in the country. This role focuses entirely on growing existing national accounts by partnering closely with Customer Success, Product, Clinical, and Operations to identify white-space opportunities, expand use cases, and accelerate each customer’s journey toward becoming AI-native.
This role requires a strategic operator who can navigate complex enterprises, build multi-threaded relationships, and drive expansion with precision and urgency.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Expansion
  • Own expansion revenue within large national payer and PBM accounts.
  • Build deep, multi-threaded relationships across clinical, operations, UM, CM, medical management, and digital/AI leadership.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Engagement Managers to identify incremental opportunities across workflows like UM, CM, appeals, and quality.
  • Create structured account playbooks that expand Autonomize across business units and use cases.
Sales Execution & Ownership
  • Own a quota and manage forecasts with rigor and accuracy.
  • Lead executive-level conversations around ROI, workflow transformation, and scaled AI adoption.
  • Serve as the bridge between customer needs and internal teams — partnering closely with Customer Success, Product, Clinical, and Ops.
  • Drive renewals, expansions, pilot conversions, land-and-expand motions, and multi-year enterprise agreements.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Engagement Managers on QBRs, roadmap discussions, and performance storytelling.
  • Provide clear, structured customer insights to Product and AI/ML to influence roadmap priorities.
  • Work with Clinical and Ops teams to ensure predictable delivery and consistent customer outcomes.
Market & Customer Insight
  • Become an expert in payer/PBM operational workflows and modernization needs.
  • Map enterprise structures, identify decision-makers, and develop influence strategies.
  • Identify patterns across national accounts to strengthen Autonomize’s expansion strategy.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7+ years in enterprise account management or expansion sales within health plans, PBMs, or healthcare SaaS.
  • Demonstrated success growing complex national accounts with multi-year expansion cycles.
  • Excellent executive presence with the ability to influence senior clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong account planning discipline and precise forecasting skills.
  • Deep understanding of payer operations (UM, CM, appeals, quality, digital/AI initiatives).
  • Experience partnering with Customer Success, Product, Clinical, and Ops to drive account expansion.

Bonus Points

  • Experience selling AI, workflow automation, data platforms, or transformation technologies.
  • Background in high-growth, high-accountability environments.
  • Experience converting pilots into scaled deployments across payer/PBM ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise renewal and customer success motions.
