Responsibilities
- Fullstack Development: Design, develop, and implement scalable web applications and services using PHP, focusing on backend logic, APIs, and front-end integration.
- System Architecture: Contribute to architectural design of distributed systems to ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage complex relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL) using ORM frameworks like Doctrine.
- Front-end Development: Build responsive UIs using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Twig for clinical and administrative workflows.
- Deployment & Operations: Work with modern deployment tools and practices, including Kubernetes, CI/CD, and operational stability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, data science, AI, and other teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and champion best practices in coding, testing, and design.
- Testing & Quality: Implement unit, integration, and functional testing strategies to ensure reliability.
- Hiring & Onboarding: Participate in interviewing and onboarding to grow the engineering organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on fullstack engineering experience with strong emphasis on PHP in production environments.
- Proficiency with PHP frameworks (especially Symfony) and ORM tools like Doctrine.
- Extensive experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL), schema design, and performance tuning.
- Experience building and operating large distributed systems and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong front-end skills with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (responsive design, cross-browser compatibility).
- Experience implementing unit, integration, and functional testing strategies.
- Proven technical leadership, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js, Stimulus).
- Experience with large-scale enterprise systems in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and services for scalable web applications.
- Experience with API design and performance optimization.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is listed as remote (US) and can be performed remotely. The company also notes the role may be on-site or hybrid based in New York City or Boca Raton offices.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $190,000.
